VAT Changes
There are sigificant changes coming that affect VAT registered businesses. Are you ready for them, and getting the support you need?
From 1 April 2010 all VAT registered businesses with turnover of £100,000 or more must file their VAT Returns online. If you fall into this group it means that, if your next VAT quarter ends on 31 March 2010, the VAT Return due by 30 April 2010 must be filed online. Also, VAT payable must be paid electronically. There are penalties for not doing so.
HM Revenue & Customs are telling the affected businesses that they have identified and sending out details of how to register for online filing. Please do not delay in dealing with this.
In addition, any business registering for VAT from 1 April 2010 must do so online, and file their VAT Returns online and pay any VAT due electronically.
If your present turnover is under £100,000 and likely to stay there, you won't escape. All VAT registered businesses must file online and pay electronically by 2012.
